Beginning in 2006 at their alma maters, Penny and Roe Stamps created merit scholarship programs for undergraduates.  After seeing what a difference such awards made in the lives of the recipients, Roe and Penny expanded their reach with similar programs at the University of Miami in 2009 and at Barry, Caltech, Florida, Illinois, UCLA, and UVA in 2010. Since then the list has more than doubled.

In 2000, the Stamps Foundation provided an initial grant of $250,000 to the Georgia Tech President’s Scholarship Program.  That first class of scholarship recipients now include a Rhodes Scholar, a medical doctor, a lawyer, and industry and higher education employees.  Their experiences served to inspire further gifts and expanded opportunties.
