A class of 2014 student, Anthony Bruno is originally from Berwyn, Illinois and currently studies Mechanical Engineering.
“At my high school, JS Morton West, I held various leadership positions in Mathletes, Class of 2010, and Italian Club over the course of the four years. So far, as an engineering freshmen at the University of Illinois, I’ve become involved with iEFX (Illinois Engineering Freshmen Experience) through the Outreach team and the Engineering and Service to Society: Energy and Earth team, Engineers Without Borders, and the Campus Honors and James Scholar Programs. In Engineers Without Borders, my team is currently working on a solar-powered cooker for several families in rural Mexico. I plan to continue my involvement with these organizations and to expand my engagement to other groups focused on service through energy research. Something Awesome: Through the Stamps scholarship, I have been given immeasurable opportunities and resources to learn and develop in a way that will allow me to pursue my dream of making a difference in the lives of others.”
